Luis Sosa Manubes was born in Cardenas, Tabasco, in Southern Mexico. He moved to the United States in 2016 and discovered art at the age of eighteen as a way to cope with the trauma of immigrating to a new country.
Luis attended the University of Notre Dame, where he obtained a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Studio Art.
Post-graduation, Luis has been working as a data engineer, while continuing his artist life in his free time. If he is not drawing or taking photos, Luis spends his time volunteering with organizations that work with underprivileged communities. Luis enjoys digitizing and modernizing databases of small non-profit organizations, and he often engages in educating low-income and at-risk youth about the feasibility and benefits of pursuing higher education.
Some of his favorite activities include spending time with his parents and his younger brother, camping, listening to music and cooking.
Luis hopes to use his work to inspire underserved communities to pursue better opportunities, and he hopes to be an example that people with few resources can achieve great things with effort, guidance and faith.
On top of his conceptual art, Luis also is a professional photographer and ceramicist.
